I think I've said this to over 3/4 of the people who replied: get on the same level as animals when shooting them. Shooting from above makes it boring - the animal is just seen as a lowly animal, nothing strong or amazing. If you're on their eye level, you see things how the would, see the height of the thing, its mass, etc.
